Alisha graduated from La James Beauty College in Cedar Falls, Iowa, and studied abroad in Italy with Pivot Point International. She has been doing hair for five years and has completed a certified training with Scruples Color Institute. Alisha has had her work published in Inspire Magazine, a trade publication that is widely distributed both nationally and internationally in top hair salons. She has worked at many bridal shows, and most recently delivered training for continuing education classes at La James College in Mason City. Alisha's strengths are up-do work, styling, and sculpting hair, highlighting and color work, trend haircutting, and French haircutting.
Allison has two years of experience in the Beauty Industry. After graduating from PCI College in Ames at the highest level, and receiving many awards in client retention, cutting, and styling, she set off to receive advanced education. Those classes with Grund, Michael Cole, and Bumble and Bumble have given her the knowledge to do what she does best in color, cutting, and styling. She has enjoyed participating in the Bridal Forum, The Big Hair Ball, and doing hair for the Luxx fashion show featuring Jaeda of America's Next Top Model. Allison's strengths are in cutting, coloring, and styling.
Chrissy has been in the salon industry and has worked at Estilo for five years. Prior to graduating from PCI in Ames, Iowa, Chrissy attended AIB. Chrissy understands the importance of strong communication skills with her clients. She is a great listener on what her clients want, and delivers just that. Chrissy has attended numerous classes to keep current on the latest trends. She has trained at the Scruples Color Institute, and participated in classes with Luis Alvarez, Vice President of Aquage, learning the value of beautiful up-do work. Chrissy has also been trained on haircutting by Eric Fisher, Shawna Parvin, and Ann Bray and learned the finish and styling techniques for up-do's. Chrissy is always positive in learning new and fun techniques, and her work shows it.
Chrissy graduated from the College of Natural Health eight years ago with seven years of experience at Estilo Salon and Day Spa. She has extra education in pregnancy massage, healing touch and myofascial release. Chrissy will make your massage experience relaxing, as one of her strengths is listening to her clients to achieve exactly the type of service they expect.
David has been in the salon industry for 30 years. He was the lead platform artist for the Midwest region of L'Oreal U.S.A., and Regional Educator for ABBA salon products. David's educational background is quite extensive. He has trained at the DeCut Salon in California under the direction of Hans Wolfe, and Vidal Sassoon Academy, learning the fundamentals at the Sassoon Master Class. David has also trained with the LaCoupe Academy in New York City, Scott Cole Salon's cutting Excellence class, Tony and Guy Center, an artistic cutting class at Juan Salon in Beverly Hills, as well as the Redken Exchange New York City. David's mastery of color theory, color techniques and cuts coupled with a commitment to ongoing education gives him the skill and confidence to achieve a personalized style for each individual.
Debbie has been doing hair for 37 years and is an expert in perms, hair color, hair cutting, and the art of styling hair. She is proficient in razor cutting as well. Debbie enjoys all types of hair and creating any style for which a client might ask. When you have been in the industry this long, what comes around goes around, and she has seen it all, and can do it all.
Jackie graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Public Relations. After graduating from college, she attended La James International Beauty College. While in school she received Backstage Honors. She has been in the industry for two years, but is extremely accomplished in color since being trained in the salon and at the Scruples Color Institute. She has also attended the Midwest Beauty Show in Chicago, to learn about the latest trends, and was a participant in advanced Rusk training. Jackie enjoys the beauty industry as it is always challenging keeping updated on new trends in color and cuts, something she is very good at.
Jen, Estilo's Network Educator for Bumble and Bumble, graduated eleven years ago from Iowa School of Beauty. She attended the advanced Scruples Color Institute, the Jacques Dessange technical class, and numerous shows and classes in Omaha, Chicago and Las Vegas. Her helpfulness with the Big Hair Ball, the Iowa State Fashion Show, and the Bridal Forum, all show a commitment to her work at Estilo. Jen's willingness to get along with others is the reason she was chosen by her peers to become a Network Educator for teaching Bumble and Bumble classes for Estilo’s staff. Jen attended the Bumble and Bumble University to bring back current trends and cutting techniques. She feels her strengths are in haircutting and coloring, but overall she loves to do hair, and make her clients feel great about themselves.
Jenner graduated four years ago from La James Beauty College in Johnston. Upon graduation she has received advanced education from Scruples Color Institute, attended a Graham Webb technical class in San Diego, and has attended numerous hair conventions in Omaha, Chicago, and Las Vegas. Jenner continues to learn during Estilo’s in salon training programs. Jenner has played a valuable role in the Big Hair Ball, Bridal Forum, Iowa State University Fashion Show, and has participated in photo shoots for Des Moines' W Magazine, and Mind and Body. Jenner's work has appeared in Inspire, an industry publication that is published to show the latest hair trends, and is distributed both nationally and internationally. Jenner enjoys all aspects of the hair industry, but feels her strengths lie in coloring, cutting and styling.
Jenny, a graduate of four years from La James International College, is one of Estilo's top producing stylists. Her love for the industry has Jenny flying to New York, Las Vegas, and to Chicago for advanced education. She is certified to do Tress Allure Hair Extensions, and is an expert in razor cutting. Jenny has trained at the Bumble and Bumble University, as well as in Minneapolis at the Scruples Color Institute. Jenny's strengths are in cutting, color, and styling hair from a blow out to a gorgeous up-do for those special events. Jenny was asked to do the models' hair for the cover of DSM Magazine two years in a row. Her work has also appeared in the Big Hair Ball for the Des Moines Art Center, and doing hair for the Iowa State Fashion Show. She has also assisted backstage at the Aquage International Hair Show which Jenny finds exciting.
Kasey graduated from Moulton-Udell high school May 2002. After attending and graduating in 2003 from Capri Beauty College in Cedar Rapids she worked in the city for several years before moving to Des Moines. Kasey joined Estilo during the Summer of 2007 and enjoys hair coloring and hair cutting and styling. Kasey is also proficient in pedicures, and manicures and facial waxing services. Her interest in advanced education is something that keeps her up to date on the latest trends. She seeks every opportunity to attend those classes.
Kelly has had 14 years of salon experience, with five years working as an educator for Creative Nail Design, teaching nail technicians acrylic nail and proper product use. Kelly has traveled numerous places for education including Chicago, to the Midwest Beauty Show, and to the Las Vegas Hair Show. She has been trained by top educators in the beauty industry, such as Luis Alvarez Vice President of Aquage. She has expertise in hair dressing and photo shoot techniques and has learned from master designers such as Aquage Eric Fisher, Shawna Parvin, and Ann Brey. Learning about Profound Beauty, Estilo's newest product range, has also been a part of Kelly's education. She has also studied at the Scruples Color Institute in Minneapolis. Kelly has been an employee for six years at Estilo, and her strengths are cutting and coloring.
Liz is a graduate of La James Beauty College in Cedar Falls, with nine years of experience in the beauty industry. Liz trained at the Scruples Color Institute in Minneapolis and is a master colorist for Estilo. She also excels in hair cutting, customer service, and product knowledge. Liz's educational background includes numerous Aquage classes with master stylist and Vice President Luis Alvarez, Ann Bray and Shawna Parvin. Liz has been the top producing designer two years in a row, and has won trips to New York to train at the Bumble and Bumble University and attended the International beauty show in New York City. She has participated in Bridal Forums, the Iowa State Fashion Show, and The Big Hair Ball.
Lejla graduated from La James Beauty College and has been doing hair for five years at Estilo. She has been trained with the top educators from Aquage, including the Vice President Luis Alvarez, and Master Designers and NAHA winners Eric Fisher and Ann Bray. Lejla has attended Scruples Color Institute in Minneapolis, and numerous in-salon classes at Estilo. Lejla has exceptional ability styling hair, and has participated in Des Moines' Bridal Forum, The Big Hair Ball, the Iowa State Fashion Show, and has had her work photographed in Des Moines' W Magazine. Her specialties are haircutting, coloring, and styling.
Mallory graduated three years ago from La James Beauty College in Iowa City. Mallory is interested in furthering her education and has attended advanced classes in Minneapolis with Scruples Color Institute. She has also attended a Graham Webb technical class in San Diego, hair shows in Omaha, Chicago, and Las Vegas, and loves the continuous training opportunities in salon classes that are offered quarterly each of our product ranges. Mallory has participated in Des Moines' Bridal Forum, Big Hair Ball, and Iowa State Fashion Show. Also, she has been involved in numerous photo shoots for Mind and Body, Des Moines' W Magazine, Dornick Designs, and freelance work for Meredith Publishing. Mallory's strengths are in the coloring and make-up fields.
Marilyn has been doing hair for 40 plus years and is quite accomplished in the art of styling and haircutting. She enjoys the changes she has seen in the hair industry which always keeps her career challenging and new. Keeping up with the pace is her strength in working in this industry for so long, and enjoying every minute of it.
Megan graduated from PCI in Ames, Iowa, and has achieved many of her personal goals. She has acquired a number of certifications and has been recognized numerous time for her work. She earned an Iowa Instructors license to share her skills and knowledge with aspiring hair designers. She worked at a beauty college for a short time before joining Estilo. Megan is all about keeping up on the current trends by frequently attending classes for haircutting and color. She has attended classes in Chicago, Minneapolis, Las Vegas, and Omaha. Her most recent trip to New York for classes at the Bumble and Bumble University. It is Megan's goal to provide the highest of standards, to meet her clients’ needs with an emphasis on satisfaction. She is ambitious, able to work efficiently, and excels in haircutting, coloring, foiling, and eyebrow arching.
Michelle graduated from La James Beauty College in 1994, and has worked for Estilo for eight years. Prior to Estilo, Michelle taught at La James College for one year. She has had various education from Aveda in Minneapolis, hands on Rusk classes, and in salon education from Aquage, Scruples, Bioelements, and Matrix. She spent three days training at the Scruples Color Institute in Minneapolis, and has attended various hair shows in Chicago, California, and Las Vegas. Michelle's strengths lie in hair color, cutting long hair, and working with curly. She is extremely good with client consultations to create the best possible results for your hair.
Nia is a graduate of the University of Iowa with a BBA, a graduate of La James Beauty College in esthetics, and is microderm certified as well. She has been working in the industry for two years and has attended numerous advanced training seminars by Eminence and SkinCeuticals skincare ranges. She has taken advanced training seminars with NuFree waxing system. Nia is well versed with Bare Minerals Cosmetics, and is known for her facial massage and Brazilian waxing.
Sarah has an associates degree and an esthetics license. She has been an esthetician for two years and has trained with numerous educators during that time. She has completed various courses in NuFree waxing, chemical peels, microdermabrasion, as well as product knowledge in SkinCeuticals and Eminence skincare, and Bare Minerals cosmetics. She has also participated in Hungarian Massage techniques and skin analysis. Listening to individual clients' needs is important to Sarah and helping them to achieve their skin care goals is her strength.
